Eager by Design
03:31
|
|||
Wait for me if I come across that way,
Jump inside of my speeding freight,
Test the ride, but hold on tight,
The road it travels mysterious shapes
'Cause I roll
Eager by design,
But my spokes
Burn out all the time
Rest assured I'll bring it back someday,
With tired eyes and sun-cooked face,
Plant yourself in a fertile field,
I'm back to follow in new parades
'Cause I roll
Eager by design
But my spokes
Burn out all the time
Invited in with open arms,
The future dulls the past alarms,
Weary goes the wayward soul,
But forward march is all it knows
'Cause I roll
Eager by design
But my spokes
Burn out all the time

Patterned
05:47
|

Forgiveness for the patterned ones,
Wear their gowns alone,
Throw myself to the rattlesnakes,
Stand my ground with you
Meet you at the edge,
I'll meet you at the edge
I am gone
From where goners have been,
Where they leave
To become goers again
We'll see all the ghosts we've left behind,
Wear their gowns unchanged,
Shameless surrender to famished minds,
Dull and drowned in grey
Meet you at the edge,
I'll meet you at the edge
I am gone
From where goners have been,
Where they leave
To become goers again
See it all go up
Makes us all seem happier,
And see it crumbling down
Brings a spell of laughter

Trunk Life
05:28
|
|||
Trunk living's much better than this,
Hit the road and pitching our tents,
Camp fire and the ceilings aglow,
Back my bags, don't think I'll be missed
Never tested for the sun rise,
Never tested for the sun rise.
If I tend to walk the holy road
Will they tell me that I'm golden?
If I turn just where the fruit starts growing
Will they care for me when I'm swollen?
'Cause I don't know why,
I dream into the open open,
If it's better when I arrive
I'll end up just bones in the ocean
Doesn't matter where I'm going,
Can't escape where my home is,
Dirt road or a shoddy apartment,
I know just where my soul is.
Falling down,
So pick it up,
Yours to try
Your own luck,
Taste and see
What it really means,
Restless hearts
Shallow seats
When walls collapse from wind erosion
And temperature laughs, I can notice,
Will I blow to the clearing closest,
Or fall within mid-winter's lowest?
'Cause I don't know why,
I dream into the open open,
If it's better when I arrive
I'll end up just bones in the ocean
Doesn't matter where I'm going,
Can't escape where my home is,
Dirt road or a shoddy apartment,
I know just where my soul is.
Falling down,
So pick it up,
Yours to try
Your own luck,
Taste and see
What it really means,
Restless hearts
Shallow seats,
Danger lies
Beneath the dirt,
Grab a hose
And turn it up,
Drench until
The water seeps
Into your hands
But not your feet

Not to Sleep
03:16
|
|||
When I came around chained by the thought of you,
Well, lies abound but we both wouldn't face the truth,
When on the shore of an ocean that once was you,
Well, not anymore, you've dried up through and through.
When I open wide eyes that slept for you,
Well, you can't hide in a dream that comes unglued,
When I realize time can't be removed,
Well, I just sigh in thanks for all that you've soothed.
Someone is telling me not to sleep
Someone is telling me not to sleep.
In time, we'll all be stuck inside
Of the simplest nursery rhyme,
Long outdated, and my oh my,
How redundant.
Someone is telling me not to sleep
Someone is telling me not to sleep.
